House of Holland A/W'12 - hair by Percy & Reed and Babyliss Pro
We’re loving all things London Fashion Week, so we’re super excited about catwalk-worthy haircare range by Percy & Reed arriving at ASOS. The brainchild of backstage hair maestros Paul Percival and Adam Reed, we’re already obsessed with the gorgeous packaging, divine scent and most of all, the amazingness of this range. The Volumising Shampoo and Conditioner and Session Hold Hairspray have given us Bardot-esque locks, while the No Oil Oil’s ability to fight frizz while repairing and nourishing hair has got the beauty industry talking.
Watch Paul and Adam show you how to create a classic ‘Show Pony’ hairstyle – a ponytail that suits all seasons. Below, they chat to us exclusively about the range and behind the scenes at LFW.
ASOS: What's inspiring you at the moment?
Percy & Reed: ‘So many things - the ‘70s, Studio 54 and sexy, glamorous, healthy-looking hair. There’s also a real mod look coming through that’s sharper with lots of texture.’
A: What are your best and worst fashion week moments ever?
P&R: ‘The best was Henry Holland’s first show. We dyed hairgrips fluoro and wove embroidered silk into dishevelled braids, which looked amazing. The worst was his show two years ago. All of the models turned up from a previous show with thick grease through their hair, which even washing up liquid wouldn’t remove. We had to totally change the look we had planned!’
A: What's in your fashion week kit?
P&R: ‘Ideally everything, just in case something goes wrong. If we had to choose, our favourite must-have items are Percy & Reed Dry Conditioner, a Babyliss Pro Curling Wand, Goody hair grips, a Mason Pearson dressing brush and Percy & Reed Session Hold Hairspray.’
A: Who's your favourite model of the moment?
P&R: ‘Charlotte Free. She really stands out and does it differently.’
A: Tell us your top hair tip.
P&R: ‘Spray grips before putting into hair to make them stick and give better hold.’
A: What is your favourite product from the range?
P&R: ‘Percy & Reed Session Hold Hairspray. It’s great if you spray and apply with a brush for an effortless finish. You can also spray it onto a blusher brush and lightly sweep over short hairs to stop flyaways.’
A: Who are your hair icons and why?
Adam: ‘Freya Beha Erichsen’s hair is amazing and anything suits her. I also love Brigitte Bardot – she was way ahead of her time.’
Paul: ‘Clémence Poésy. I love her colour and the style is effortless, a modern Bardot.’
